Stitch Fix #2

Well, friends, Stitch Fix #2 arrived and I think I'm hooked.   (Here's a recap on the glory of Stitch Fix and my first box.)  The box arrived while I was out of town for the weekend, and while the prospect of going home to my two loves warmed my heart, the anticipation of opening this box of treasures was a reeeal close second.

The first time around I loved that everything fit really well.  I didn't love that the pieces were mostly pretty casual, since I'm hoping to step up my game here.  So this time I was specific and asked for some date night pieces, like perhaps a tunic.

Here's what they sent:

Please forgive a girl for these photos.  Since I got the box while I was out of town, I only had one hasty evening with the pieces before I had to return the rejects the next day.

#1) Just Black Skinny Jean in Canteloupe, $88
These were really fun.  A tad long so they would need to be hemmed, but otherwise fit great (how do they do that??!   For me, jean shopping involves trying on no fewer than 12 pairs to find something that remotely works.  And here they are just fitting like a glove.  Magic elves work for Stitch Fix, I tell you).  But I already have a salmon-colored pair that is kinda similar (and by similar I mean ~ $60 cheaper on Old Navy clearance) sooo the verdict was PASS.

2) Dear John Floral Skinny Pant, $98
Another pair of skinnies.  If you'll look closely you'll see that these were made of velvety floral material.  Is that a thing now?  How do you feel about that?  I myself am unsure.  Something about the print reminded me of watching Blossom in third grade with one of those hats with the big sunflowers on the front.  Maybe I am behind the trend but I just couldn't pull the trigger.  PASS.

3) Miillia Pin Tuck Button-Up Tunic, $48
I promise there were good things in this box - stick with me - but this one was clearly miserable.  It was loose and baggy in all the wrong places and the color made me look like something from the Walking Dead so you'll be shocked to learn that this was a PASS.

Now for the winners and the selfies.

4) Under Skies Belted Tunic, $48
Hooray!!  I asked for a tunic, and they sent me one that actually covers my rear (long torso problems, anyone?) in a color that I love.  Also like the belt.  Game upped.  Verdict: KEEPER.

5) Collective Concepts Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse, $58
I probably would pass this up if I saw it in a store, but that is the beauty of having someone else pick out items for you.  It is really versatile and will be perfect for layering, both in winter and summer.  Also love that the color goes with pretty much anything.  Verdict:  KEEPER.

So there you have it.  And just in case you're wondering, I did have a few referral credits for this box so I have to give a HUGE thank you to those who signed up through my link.  I owe you each a milkshake.  One of those friends and I actually saw each other out and about this past week, both wearing pieces we had gotten through Stitch Fix - she in her chevron-print blouse and me in my belted tunic.  Just a couple ladies ditching our yoga pants and raising our standards.  It felt. good.
